The Jerome Caja Terrible Beauty Award annually supports two specially selected artists from a grant provided by Jerome Caja's estate. For more about artist Jerome Caja, click here, and for a podcast about his work click here.

Originally from Moscow, Elena Zolotnitsky has developed a strong career in painting.  Her figurative style finds its roots in the Social Realism style of 1920's Russia.  On canvas and paper her images develop from planes of color.

Mark Paron has enlivened common materials into dynamic and witty shapes.  For over 20 years he has made and exhibited work in San Francisco.  His work can also be seen at the SFMoMA Artist Gallery.

Saturday, August 9, 3:30pm
Informal talk and walk-through tour by the artist
SF LGBT Center, 1800 Market St.,, San Francisco

Whether landscape, figurative or abstract; Jerry Frost’s paintings consistently reveal a uniquely visceral relationship with his chosen medium. Frost prefers to utilize putty knives, rags, and the occasional pencil in creating his work. Quickly applying paint directly from the tube on to the canvas; Frost creates bold arrangements of color and form.
