How to Apply for Visual Aid Services

Requirements:

To be considered for Visual Aid's services, you must be a professional visual artist with a life-threatening illness and resident of one of the nine San Francisco Bay area counties. If you'd like to apply, please submit your completed application along with 10 slides of your artwork, an artist's statement, a professional art-related resume, three letters of reference from fine arts professionals, and a letter from your physician or social worker substantiating your diagnosis of a life-threatening illness.

Applications are reviewed two times a year and the deadlines are:

June 5 • December 5

Current Visual Aid Grantees may reapply for Vouchers two times a year
(same deadlines as above).

Applications must arrive at the Visual Aid office by the actual date of the deadline.

Applications received after the deadline, regardless of postmark, will be reviewed
during the following review.

If the deadline falls on a weekend or a national holiday,
submit the application to the Visual Aid office by the following business day.
